In later 2014 and early 2015, the LYAS ran a series of three free writing workshops for middle school kids to explore creative writing under the guidance of Saint Mary's College graduate students. The workshop attendees visited the Saint Mary's campus and sat in college classrooms, where they tackled writing prompts and brainstormed ideas—a few brave souls even shared their work with their peers.
